Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. seeks a QC Technician to perform inspections and functional testing on manufactured generator systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safe energization on-site before shipment.

The role covers documentation, testing, and adherence to project requirements while contributing to quality improvements. Growth opportunities span Levels I–IV with increasing responsibility and mentoring duties.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • NFPA 70E certification required; certification may be provided by PowerSecure if other qualifications are satisfactory.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operations manuals, and written instructions.
  • Ability to follow reporting guidelines and accurately document test results and product specifications.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic for splice plate length, voltage measurements, and amperage ratios.
  • Must wear and maintain required PPE.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with switchgear, electrical systems, or generator systems unless applying for an apprenticeship position.
  • Engineering or programming experience may be accepted in lieu of switchgear, electrical, or generator experience.

Responsibilities

  • Locate, organize, and maintain documentation for specific jobs.
  • Perform inspections and testing procedures in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Execute test sequences as dictated by project documentation and engineering requirements.
  • Record test results and component specifications accurately.
  • Move equipment using a forklift or pallet jack.
  • Remove and reinstall panels weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Support quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
