Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks a PG QC Technician to perform inspections and functional testing on generator systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and engineer specifications before leaving the plant.

Responsibilities include documenting test results, interpreting safety rules, and supporting quality initiatives in a manufacturing and outdoor testing environment. NFPA 70E certification is required or provided by the company if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• NFPA 70E certification required. Certification may be provided by PowerSecure if other qualifications are satisfactory.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operations manuals, and written instructions.
• Ability to follow reporting guidelines and accurately document test results and product specifications.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure to determine splice plate length, voltage measurements, and amperage ratios.

Responsibilities

• Locate, organize, and maintain documentation for specific jobs.
• Perform inspections and testing procedures in accordance with established quality standards.
• Execute test sequences as dictated by project documentation and engineering requirements.
• Record test results and component specifications accurately.
• Move equipment using a forklift or pallet jack.
• Remove and reinstall panels weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Support quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
