Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Field Service Supervisor to lead and coach a team of technicians across our service territory in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on optimizing performance, safety, and field operations while delivering excellent customer service.

You will manage performance, oversee preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on generators, and coordinate field support, training, and onboarding. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Master Technician or equivalent OEM certification and training is required.
  • High level of expertise with switchgear.
  • Positive attitude and strong customer service skills required.
  • Ability to manage a team of technicians.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the work of assigned service technicians within geographic territory.
  • Evaluate performance, provide coaching and feedback, and develop training programs to improve technical knowledge and overall performance of assigned technicians.
  • Identify and assign team members to provide field support and mentorship to other service technicians.
  • Partner with the Service Director to resolve employee performance or behavioral issues and determine staffing needs.
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring of field service technicians.
  • Serve as first point of contact for phone and field support, including troubleshooting, emergency repair assistance, and parts delivery; elevate complex issues to the Service Director as needed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, startup, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of generators and related equipment.
  • Make pre-startup site visits to advise and assist installing contractors.
  • Lead safety initiatives and oversight for all technicians in assigned geography, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Execute Quality Control programs within assigned geographic territory, working with the Technical Service Manager to implement QC procedures and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support the Service Manager in reviewing work orders at all stages of project execution.
  • Drive and promote continuous improvement of field operations.
  • Provide customer-focused support to enhance customer relationships and resolve concerns.
  • Support planning and quoting of complex service projects.
  • Assist the Service Director with the OEM warranty process administration.
  • Advise the service operations team on time and materials needed for various service levels.
  • Provide after-hours emergency response support as needed.
  • Occasional overnight travel required
