Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Generative AI Engineer in Bentonville, AR to design, develop, and deploy scalable AI and analytics solutions on cloud platforms. You will translate business requirements into production-ready applications while collaborating with program managers, leads, and stakeholders.

The role requires 6+ years in software/AI, strong Python/SQL, and hands-on experience with LangChain/LlamaIndex, plus deployment on Azure or Google Cloud.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering, data, analytics, ML, or AI experience with hands-on generative AI.
• Strong Python and SQL programming, building production-ready applications.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangGraph.
• Experience with large language model APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini.
• Experience deploying AI/analytics applications on Azure or Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable generative AI, ML, and analytics solutions for deployment on Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions and lead technical conversations with program managers, engineering leads, and other stakeholders.
• Develop high-quality applications using established coding standards and automated unit testing.
• Build and optimize retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, prompt-based solutions, fine-tuned models, and agentic AI workflows.
• Support solutions through testing, production deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing performance improvement.
• Document architecture, designs, and service specifications while guiding developers.
