Job summary

Moniepoint is seeking a Senior Generalist Engineer to own end-to-end production systems across software, distributed systems, infrastructure, data, and ML. You will move from vague problems to clear designs, robust implementations, reliable deployment, and production operation.

The role emphasizes first-principles thinking, deep debugging, and a willingness to span multiple domains to deliver reliable, scalable systems. Remote-first with strong collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong CS fundamentals including data structures, OS, networking and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of probability and statistics as applied to systems.
• Experience building production-grade systems at scale.
• Ability to move across Go, Java, Python, Rust, SQL.
• Comfort with Linux, containers and Kubernetes, and debugging complex systems.
• Familiarity with data systems, streaming, ML infrastructure, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade systems that are reliable, scalable, and observable.
• Own systems end-to-end from problem to deployment and operations.
• Work across application services, distributed systems, infra, data pipelines, and ML.
• Debug complex production issues across multiple layers.
• Make engineering trade-offs grounded in first principles.
• Improve performance, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Contribute to architecture and technical direction.
• Write maintainable code and documentation.
• Raise the engineering bar.
