Job Summary

Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds in multiple locations, including carpentry and painting tasks.

Primary Duties

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Perform minor and major troubleshooting and repairs to all buildings and facilities, including general maintenance, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and masonry work.
  • Perform basic rough and finish carpentry work and prepare surfaces for painting or repairs.
  • Provide routine maintenance for rental properties, including coordinating with outside vendors.
  • Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests.
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials manually.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
  • Assist in freight and material handling as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of loading dock and warehouse areas.
  • Comply with policies and procedures, including OSHA guidelines.
  • Participate in required training, such as Human Rights training.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in carpentry and painting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in building maintenance and repairs.
  • HVAC and electrical certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
  • CDL license and driving experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have own tools.
  • Experience with HUD/affordable housing required.
  • Ability to read instructions, labels, and numbers.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, reach, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to walk, sit, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Typically quiet noise level in the work environment.
