Job summary

Xylem Tree Experts is seeking an experienced General Litigation & Worker's Compensation Attorney in Norfolk, VA. You will work with the Chief Legal Officer to oversee workers' compensation matters from start to finish, handling complex commercial and civil defense litigation.

The role requires a law degree and active US licensure, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in relevant areas. Competitive pay, PTO, health and dental plans, and a 401(k) with company match are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial and civil/insurance defense litigation.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage your own caseload involving workers' compensation matters, working cases from beginning to end.
• Handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation including depositions and appearances.
• Take responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity and develop strategies for efficient resolutions.
• Draft pleadings, reports, and other legal documents.
