Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent General Liability Attorney to join our team in Austin, TX. Represent clients in all stages of litigation, from discovery through trial and appeal, focusing on general liability including insurance defense, premises, product liability, trucking and transportation, toxic tort, and asbestos.

The ideal candidate has a JD, Texas bar admission, at least 5 years of trial experience, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to manage a heavy caseload while

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in Texas.
• Minimum 5 years of trial attorney experience.
• Experience in general liability areas: insurance defense, premises, product, trucking/transportation, toxic tort, asbestos.
• Strong research and writing skills; ability to manage a high caseload and trial work.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients at all stages of litigation, from filing pleadings through trial and appeal.
• Prepare and argue motions; take/defend depositions; engage in discovery.
• Handle a caseload across general liability matters: insurance defense, premises/product liability, trucking, toxic tort, asbestos.
• Perform extensive legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Negotiate settlements; participate in mediation; represent clients in arbitration.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff for effective case management.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal laws and ethical rules.
