Job summary

Walbec Group seeks a Claims Specialist 2 to independently manage General Liability claims from notice through resolution. This in-office role requires strong investigation, analysis, and negotiation skills to protect company interests and ensure timely settlements.

Under the Claims Manager, you will collaborate withSafety, project teams, Legal, and insurers to review contracts, assess liability, and maintain precise claim files in Origami.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, business, legal studies, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant claim experience considered.
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible claims experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages General Liability claims from notice through resolution.
• Conducts timely claim and incident investigations with supporting documents.
• Communicates with claimants and stakeholders to obtain information and explain the process.
• Evaluates liability, damages, coverage, and reserves; develops claim strategies and action plans.
• Negotiates settlements within authority and coordinates with defense counsel.
