Job summary

Free2move, a global mobility company, seeks a Senior General Ledger Accountant for its Tunisia Shared Services Center. You will oversee month-end closings, intercompany reconciliations, audits, and continuous improvement of finance processes within a multinational setting.

You will lead and coach junior accountants, ensure IFRS/local GAAP compliance, and collaborate with Treasury, Tax, and FP&A. Hybrid/remote work with on-site weeks, permanent contract, and a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Chartered Accountancy.
• 7 to 10+ years of professional experience in General Ledger Accounting or Financial Accounting.
• Experience in a Shared Services Center or multinational environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for assigned entities.
• Review and post complex accounting entries including provisions, accruals, and tax provisions.
• Coordinate with FP&A and management control to ensure accurate reporting.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Lead intercompany reconciliations and elimination of intercompany transactions.
• Support external audits and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Document and improve accounting procedures; drive automation and process improvements.

Free2move, a global mobility company, is looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join the Tunisia Shared Services Center.

Job Overview

As part of the SSC in Tunisia and reporting directly to the Group Head of Accounting, you will ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the Group's financial statements. You will be responsible for month‑end close, statutory reporting, external audits, and continuous improvement of finance processes.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger Accounting & Financial Closings
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process for assigned legal entities.
  • Review and post complex accounting entries, including provisions, accruals, prepaid expense, deferred income, payroll entries, tax provisions, depreciation and other closing adjustments.
  • Work closely with FP&A and Management Control teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Guarantee the quality and reliability of financial statements.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve outstanding reconciliation items.
  • Ensure all accounts are fully substantiated with supporting documentation.
  • Monitor account integrity and proactively identify anomalies.
• Intercompany Accounting
  • Lead monthly intercompany reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with international entities to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate elimination of intercompany transactions.
• Audit, Compliance & Financial Governance
  • Prepare annual statutory audit files.
  • Coordinate external audits with accounting firms and statutory auditors.
  • Ensure full compliance with local accounting, tax and legal regulations.
  • Act as the main accounting contact for assigned entities during audits.
• Process Improvement & Technical Leadership
  • Document and continuously improve accounting procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and optimize processes.
  • Act as the technical reference for junior General Ledger Accountants.
  • Support colleagues in resolving complex accounting issues.
  • Contribute to Finance transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

Education

• Master's degree (Bac+5) in Accounting, Finance, or Chartered Accountancy.

Experience

• 7 to 10+ years of professional experience in General Ledger Accounting or Financial Accounting.

Preferred background:

1. Senior General Ledger Accountant within a Shared Services Center of a large international group.
2. Senior General Ledger Accountant within the Tunisian subsidiary of a major international company.
3. General Ledger Accountant or Financial Controller within a large Tunisian group operating subsidiaries across Europe.
4. General Ledger Accountant within a Big Four accounting firm.

Technical Skills

• Extensive expertise in General Ledger Accounting.
• Strong experience managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP principles.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong experience with ERP systems, SAP highly preferred.
• Experience in high-volume multinational accounting environments.

Languages

• Fluent French (written and spoken).
• Professional English (written and spoken).
