A Place for Mom, Inc. is looking for a General Counsel to oversee the Legal Department, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while managing legal issues across the company's operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong consumer protection experience and familiarity with multistate business operations. Additional benefits include health insurance and a 30% management bonus. Candidates should possess a J.D. and a minimum of seven years of experience.

Qualifications

• Strong consumer protection experience in a B2C environment is the top priority.
• Experience supporting a scaled, multistate business, particularly with state-level regulatory matters.
• Healthcare experience is a nice-to-have; candidates limited to highly regulated environments may not align with our risk appetite.
• Experience overseeing government affairs is important, specifically managing external lobbyists.
• Familiarity with private equity sponsors and the ability to navigate sponsorship involvement.
• Minimum seven years' experience, with both law firm and in-house experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support and guidance across various business operations.
• Lead engagement across internal departments to resolve legal issues.
• Manage corporate governance and administer equity plan.
• Negotiate high-impact agreements and serve during contract disputes.
• Partner with Head of Government Affairs for legislative activity.
• Maintain internal financial controls and support audit activities.
• Manage intellectual property portfolio.
