Job summary

Visa's Senior Software Engineer, GenAI Security, is based in Ashburn, VA, and leads the design and deployment of security services for GenAI apps, LLMs, and tooling. You will own end-to-end development of production backends and APIs to detect and mitigate risks such as prompt injection and data exposure.

Collaborate across engineering, cybersecurity, and product teams to implement threat modeling, secure coding practices, and robust observability.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree, OR 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience developing production software using Python, Java, Go, or another modern programming language.
• Experience with cybersecurity, secure software development, cloud security, AI security, or a closely related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate GenAI security systems: design, build, deploy, and maintain production services and APIs that detect and mitigate risks.
• Measure and improve telemetry: introduce automated evaluation, testing, and observability for latency and false-positive rates.
• Integrate GenAI security capabilities into enterprise apps and workflows; collaborate across teams to deploy secure offerings.
• Practice secure engineering: threat modeling, secure coding, secret management, and architecture reviews.
