Job summary
Bank of America seeks a senior platform automation engineer to accelerate enterprise adoption of Generative AI, Data Science, and advanced analytics. You will lead automation initiatives improving developer productivity, platform reliability, governance, and self-service onboarding in an enterprise setting.
You will collaborate with platform engineering, cloud, data science, and business teams to design, operate IaC, CI/CD, observability, and AI workload enablement across the AI and analytics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, automation engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Proven experience building self-service enterprise platforms that support AI/ML, data science, data engineering, and advanced analytics.
- Strong expertise in automation frameworks, DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and software delivery lifecycle automation.
- Deep understanding of Generative AI and data science toolchains including storage, compute, interactive environments, containers, and developer tooling.
- Hands-on experience with Atlassian ecosystem tools including Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira, and Confluence.
- Experience designing IaC solutions using Terraform and cloud-native automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, governance, and semantic layer concepts.
- Experience building scalable cloud-native solutions and distributed computing environments.
- Fluent Python development for automation, orchestration, scripting, tooling, and operational engineering.
Responsibilities
- Ensures design and engineering approach for complex features aligns with the larger portfolio solution.
- Define technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate new testing tools and practices.
- Enable CI/CD capabilities and engage with stakeholders for efficient CI/CD operation.
- Guide teams on design and best practices for high code performance and reviews.
- Deliver end-to-end automation of complex features across teams at the program level.
- Research, prototyping, and evaluation of new toolsets for release management, CI/CD, and features.
- Collaborate with architects and stakeholders on high-level solution needs and technical requirements.
- Lead automation initiatives for GenAI, Data Science, Metadata, Data Quality, and Analytics platforms.
- Design and implement self-service automation for onboarding, environments, deployment, governance, monitoring, and workflows.
- Build automated platform services for AI/analytics lifecycle including data prep, training, deployment, observability, and lifecycle mgmt.
