Job summary

Databricks is seeking an AI Engineer for its Forward Deployed Engineering (AI FDE) team. You will build and productionize GenAI solutions, serving as a technical advisor to customers and collaborating with product and engineering to shape roadmaps.

Open to remote locations, with opportunities to present at Data + AI Summit and travel 4–8 weeks as needed. Candidates should have a strong ML/data science background and experience across cloud providers.

Qualifications

• Experience building GenAI applications, including RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, fine-tuning.
• Experience deploying production-grade GenAI applications.
• Extensive years of hands-on industry data science experience, leveraging pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch.
• Experience building production-grade ML deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical and technical audiences.
• Passion for collaboration, life-long learning, and driving business value through AI.
• Preferred: Databricks Intelligence Platform and Apache Spark experience.
• Willing to travel once every 4-8 weeks to see customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge GenAI solutions, incorporating Databricks AI research to solve customer problems
• Own production rollouts of consumer and internally facing GenAI applications
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers across domains
• Present at conferences such as Data + AI Summit and influence product roadmap
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams
