Job summary

Abacus Insights seeks a Senior Forward-Deployed AI Engineer to design and build AI/GenAI systems on Snowflake, with hands-on client deployments. You will lead technically, often in client environments, focusing initially on the Snowflake semantic layer and metrics reporting.

The role requires 8+ years in software/AI, deep Snowflake experience (Snowpark/Cortex/ML), Python proficiency, and strong communication.

Qualifications

8+ years of software/AI engineering experience with hands-on AI/ML system design.
Deep, hands-on Snowflake experience including Snowpark, Cortex, and Snowflake ML.
Hands-on experience building semantic layers on Snowflake and modeling metrics for AI.
Experience delivering client-ready metrics and reporting from a semantic layer.
Proven ability to work directly with external clients in implementation roles.

Responsibilities

Semantic Layer & Metrics Reporting: design, configure, and maintain the Snowflake semantic layer; build and deliver client metrics and reporting.
GenAI & Agentic Systems: design and implement retrieval-augmented generation and agentic workflows; build evaluation harnesses.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with product, data science, and operations to move AI work to production.
Client Engagement Leadership: serve as the senior technical voice on engagements, scope AI use cases, and translate requirements into solutions.
