Job summary

Abacus Insights is seeking a Sr. Forward-Deployed AI Engineer to design and build AI/GenAI systems on Snowflake, including semantic layer configuration. This client-facing role combines hands-on engineering with strategic direction, shaping AI components and ensuring successful deployments.

You will work directly with clients, define metrics, and deliver production-grade solutions, blending AI leadership with practical implementation in real-world environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software/AI engineering experience, including hands-on design of AI/ML systems.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Snowflake, including Snowpark, Snowflake Cortex, and Snowflake ML.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining semantic layers on Snowflake, including modeling logic and metrics.
• Experience delivering metrics and reporting off a semantic layer for clients and validating outputs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement GenAI/agentic systems, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation harnesses.
• Own technical architecture and model strategy decisions for AI components on the Snowflake platform.
• Lead client engagements as the senior AI technical voice, translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Configure and integrate AI solutions within client environments, with hands-on problem solving.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and operations to productionize AI work.
