Abacus Insights is seeking an experienced Forward-Deployed AI Engineer to architect and deliver AI/GenAI systems on the Snowflake platform. The role blends hands-on engineering with direct client engagements, focusing on configuring the Snowflake semantic layer and delivering client-ready metrics and reporting.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of software/AI engineering experience, with hands-on design of AI/ML systems.
- Deep, hands-on Snowflake expertise (Snowpark, Cortex, Snowflake ML).
- Experience delivering metrics and reporting off a semantic layer for clients.
- Proven track record working directly with external clients in forward-deployed or professional services roles.
- Strong Python engineering, API design, and production pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate ambiguity in client environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain the Snowflake semantic layer and metrics definitions for clients.
- Develop and deliver metrics reporting and ensure outputs align with business logic.
- Lead GenAI/agentic system design, RAG tooling, and evaluation harnesses across deployments.
- Engage directly with clients as the senior technical voice, translating requirements into technical solutions.
