Job summary

AikiTech is seeking a senior engineer to turn fast-moving GenAI capabilities into trusted, production-ready systems for public sector use. You will shape architecture, model strategy, and government-cloud deployments with strong security controls.

You will work directly with agency technical staff to translate requirements into secure software and own the end-to-end lifecycle from design to deployment, including documentation and audit-ready evidence.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of professional software engineering experience, owning and operating production systems.
• Strong Python skills with production backend APIs and data processing.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, retrieval, embeddings, evaluation, or model observability.
• Production experience on AWS or Azure with IAM, networking, containers, IaC, monitoring, CI/CD.
• Experience designing for security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving across app, infra, and integration.
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineers, stakeholders, customers, and assessors.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate LLM-powered apps on government-ready clouds and platforms.
• Evaluate additional models where appropriate.
• Design scalable, secure backend services and data pipelines in Python.
• Develop evaluation and regression-testing frameworks for accuracy, latency, and failure modes.
• Collaborate with agency staff to translate requirements into secure software."
• Own from design to deployment, including documentation and evidence for controls.
• Lead design reviews and mentor engineers.
