Job summary

Strategio Inc. is seeking an Applied AI Engineer in New York, hybrid. You will contribute to an enterprise Generative AI platform across document intelligence, search, and automated business workflows.

The role is hands-on, focusing on building GenAI capabilities with strong emphasis on security, reliability, and governance. You will design production-grade GenAI apps, architect RAG systems, and build AI ingestion pipelines for enterprise data, collaborating with teams to deliver scalable AI

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on development in Python or Java.
• 2+ years of GenAI experience in production enterprise environments.
• Deep hands-on experience with RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Experience with multi-stage/multi-vector retrieval and late-interaction approaches (e.g., ColBERT).
• Strong software architecture and ability to explain trade-offs and design decisions.
• Hands-on with agentic workflows, tool calling, structured outputs, and GenAI orchestration frameworks.
• LLMOps experience including evaluation, regression testing, observability, and version management.
• Experience building AI document ingestion/extraction pipelines and troubleshooting production AI systems.
• Experience building AI capabilities from the ground up, beyond third-party APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade GenAI applications and reusable AI workflows.
• Architect advanced retrieval systems using embeddings, vector databases, chunking, and ranking.
• Build AI-powered document ingestion and extraction pipelines with validation and traceability.
• Develop agentic workflows and AI assistants using tool calling and orchestration frameworks.
• Make architecture decisions across models, retrieval, APIs, orchestration, scalability, latency, and performance.
• Establish LLMOps and evaluation practices with testing, observability, and version management.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving hallucinations, retrieval/model regressions, data quality, latency, and reliability.
• Engineer solutions that meet enterprise security, governance, entitlements, and auditability.
