Job summary

7Seventy is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer, GenAI to own AI-powered features from concept to production. You will contribute to grant discovery, data ingestion, RAG systems, and production evaluation for AI-driven search and matching experiences.

In a hands-on role, you’ll work on Python-based systems, relational databases, and modern LLMs, collaborating with the AI engineering lead and founders to tackle undefined technical problems with high ownership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep, recent, multi-year experience with Python.
• Strong relational database and schema design skills.
• Solid computer science fundamentals.
• Track record of owning complex systems end to end, from design through production reliability.
• At least 1 year hands-on experience building with modern LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic AI systems and ship them to production.
• Own the RAG lifecycle, including ingestion, chunking, embedding, retrieval, re-ranking, and grounding.
• Develop ranking and scoring to match grants to nonprofits, universities, and foundations.
• Create reliable, observable AI systems with safe, cost-effective operation.
