Job summary

Harnham in the United States is seeking a Senior/Principal Applied AI Engineer to own production-grade Generative AI solutions from prototype to scalable deployment. You will drive end-to-end AI delivery with a focus on measurable customer impact and cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires hands-on GenAI work, strong Python and SQL skills, and experience with LLMs, vector databases, and production-grade conversational AI, within hybrid or remote work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Advanced Python development with GenAI libraries.
• Hands-on experience with large language models and prompt engineering.
• Proven capability building RAG pipelines and working with vector databases.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms.
• Experience delivering production-grade conversational AI or chatbot solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Generative AI applications across client-facing and internal platforms.
• Develop LLM-powered solutions using prompt engineering, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines.
• Build and own AI chatbots and conversational agents to production standards, including performance, scalability, and compliance.
• Create AI agents across digital and voice channels for real-time interactions.
• Deliver proof-of-concept solutions for use cases like document understanding and knowledge assistants.
• Optimize model usage, prompts, and parameters to balance accuracy, cost, and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and external partners to align AI solutions with business goals.
