7Seventy is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to build AI-powered features in a production SaaS platform. You will design prompts, develop Python backends, and integrate LLM capabilities, working with PostgreSQL and vector data systems in a FastAPI environment.

The role focuses on applying generative AI to real-world software, not research, with remote-first flexibility and a path to impactful customer-facing capabilities in a fintech/B2B SaaS context.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven proficiency using AI-powered coding tools, with Anthropic Claude Code preferred.
• Experience building backend services or REST APIs.
• Experience integrating LLM APIs, generative AI services, or AI-enabled capabilities into production applications.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance AI-powered product features in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
• Write, refine, and optimize prompts to improve AI response quality and overall feature performance.
• Develop Python-based backend services and APIs that support AI workflows and production applications.
• Work with structured data stored in PostgreSQL and vector-based data systems that support AI applications.
• Contribute to feature implementation within FastAPI-based application environments.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and experimentation.
• Participate in technical discussions involving AI feature design, architecture, and implementation.
