Job summary

SHEIN U.S. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer I (Intelligent Automation) to apply GenAI/LLM capabilities within Data Engineering. The role focuses on turning prototypes into reliable internal tools that boost engineering productivity, efficiency, and data access.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on GenAI engineering, strong Python/SQL skills, and practical production ownership, collaborating with global teams to integrate AI into data workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical discipline.
• 3+ years of software, machine learning, data, or platform engineering experience with production ownership.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with solid software fundamentals and data pipeline knowledge.
• Hands-on experience building GenAI/LLM applications (RAG, embeddings, tool/calling, agents).
• Experience productionizing services with testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and security considerations.
• Strong ownership and communication, with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and productionize GenAI/LLM solutions for engineering workflows.
• Develop retrieval/RAG and agentic workflows connecting docs, SOPs, databases, and logs.
• Improve operational efficiency with AI-assisted incident triage and automation.
• Integrate AI capabilities into internal services and developer tools with monitoring and metrics.
• Collaborate with Data Eng, AI, SRE, and Platform teams to identify high-value use cases.
• Own scoped projects from problem definition to production support.
