Job summary

Firstup is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in the United States to design and build scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions. You will create NL interfaces to data, apply GenAI/LLM techniques, and raise data quality and observability across engineering and analytics teams.

You will lead development of data models, warehouse schemas, and production data flows on AWS or GCP, while ensuring robust testing, documentation, and on-call support.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building reliable, high-performance distributed systems, with streaming and data pipelines.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS data architectures and analytics.
• Experience building NL interfaces over data warehouses using GenAI/LLM.
• Expert SQL writing, optimization, and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with AWS/GCP and distributed data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions balancing data quality and value.
• Develop natural language interfaces to data and analytics, leveraging GenAI/LLM techniques.
• Use GenAI coding tools to improve code quality, testing, and delivery speed.
• Evaluate new tech to scale the data platform and stack.
• Establish standards for SQL development, data modeling, testing, and reviews.
• Support production pipelines through on-call rotation with cross-team collaboration.
• Document and maintain expertise translating business needs into technical solutions.
