Job summary

Visa is seeking a seasoned Software Architect (Sr. Consultant) to join the Corporate Generative AI Technologies team in Bellevue. You will design, build, and scale enterprise-grade GenAI applications with strong system design and production readiness.

You will lead architecture across full-stack components, APIs, data flows, and agentic workflows, mentoring engineers and shaping engineering standards. Expect hands-on delivery and cross-functional collaboration in an enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree or 2 years with a PhD
• 11+ years of relevant work experience without a degree
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating complex distributed software systems

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale enterprise-grade GenAI and agentic applications with secure, production-ready architecture
• Own architecture and delivery of major GenAI subsystems; lead design reviews and mentor engineers
• Develop AI-native capabilities using OpenAI, Anthropic, and related LLM APIs/SDKs
• Build backend services with secure APIs, asynchronous processing, and observability
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation and AI-enabled workflow automation
