Reddit’s Ads Creative Effectiveness team is building GenAI and predictive products to power high-impact ad campaigns. We seek a Sr. Software Engineer to contribute to image, video, and copy generators and to scale brand-safe editing pipelines across Reddit’s infrastructure.

The role emphasizes architecture, performance optimization, and collaboration with Product, UX, and Ads ML teams to translate advertiser needs into robust technical roadmaps and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting and scaling distributed backend systems (Python/Go).
• Strong experience bridging ML models and production software.
• Business-minded engineering decisions with scalable roadmaps.
• Ownership mindset with focus on reliability and observability.
• Excellent communication to align Product/Design/ML teams.
• Mentor junior/mid-level engineers and enforce high standards.
• Experience building asset-heavy systems (image/video processing).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of high-performance backends for ad creative generation.
• Develop end-to-end image and video editing engines with brand guidelines in mind.
• Build scalable systems connecting ad performance data to the creative engine.
• Optimize model orchestration, latency, and cost for global scale.
• Design robust safety/compliance middleware for content filtering.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and Ads ML leadership on technical roadmaps.
• Uplift engineering standards through design reviews and mentorship.
