Scalian, a multinational engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer (Gearbox Designer) in the US to design gearbox systems for gas turbine engines and aerospace applications. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in gearbox development, strong CATIA/NX/ANSYS skills, and thorough knowledge of GD&T and stack-up analyses.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 10+ years in gearbox development with gas turbine or aerospace experience.
• Proficient in CATIA/NX and ANSYS for design and analysis.
• Familiar with GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009 and stack-up analyses.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop gearbox systems for gas turbine engines.
• Prepare 3D models and drawings of gears, housings, shafts, and bearings.
• Conduct load, thermal, and fatigue analyses; perform FEA.
• Support testing, validation, and supplier activities.
• Ensure designs meet airworthiness standards and customer specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Interface with suppliers for build-to-print components.
• Document engineering decisions and maintain design records.
• Coordinate with other departments to optimize the design.
