Archer is seeking a Staff Design Engineer for the Advanced Projects Gearbox team in San Jose, CA. You will lead gearbox design from concept through production, focusing on mass, durability, and efficiency while ensuring manufacturability.

You will perform ISO/FEM analyses, develop test plans, review CAD drawings, and mentor junior engineers. 8–12+ years rotorcraft gearbox experience and travel as needed are expected.

Formación

• Bachelors in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 8–12+ years rotorcraft gearbox design experience.
• Experience with gear spec, material selection, heat treatments, shaft layouts, bearing selection, spline rating, housing design, seal selection, lubrication methods.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and development of complex gearbox systems from concept through production.
• Perform trade studies to optimize system mass, durability and efficiency.
• Support detailed designs of gears, shafts, bearings and seals; develop lubrication requirements.
• Create and review CAD models, drawings and specs; work with vendors on DFM.
