GAM Enterprises, LLC in Mt Prospect, IL is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of precision planetary and right-angle gearboxes from concept through production.

This on-site role collaborates with customers, Sales, Applications Engineering, and Manufacturing to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective motion-control solutions, leveraging GD&T, CAD, and rigorous analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in mechanical design or product development.
• Experience designing gears, gearboxes, or precision assemblies.
• Proficient in SolidWorks; GD&T and CNC machining knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Lead design of planetary and right-angle gearboxes from concept to production.
• Develop designs meeting customer specs, performance, manufacturability, and cost targets.
• Collaborate with Sales, Applications, and Manufacturing to craft solutions.
• Perform gear sizing, torque calculations, tolerance analysis, and performance evaluation.
• Create and maintain drawings, BOMs, documentation, and changes.
