Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC seeks a Lead Product Definition & Configuration Engineer for gas turbines. Lead governance of product structures, configuration baselines, and assembly models; drive change control and engineering release activities across the fleet.

You will approve drawings and BOM data, develop large assembly layouts, and work with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and service teams to ensure accurate configurations and successful deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in product definition, mechanical design, configuration management or related areas for gas turbines or propulsion systems.
• Experience with product structures, engineering BOMs, service BOMs, configuration baselines and change management.
• Proficient in large assembly models, layouts, and complex mechanical configurations.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain product structures, engine assemblies, and configuration baselines for the 5000F platform.
• Drive configuration control and support engineering change processes throughout the lifecycle.
• Approve engineering drawings, BOMs, and product data; validate form, fit, function.
• Develop engine assembly models, layouts, and longitudinal configurations for new units and modernization.
• Create 2D and 3D drawings for large gas turbine components and assemblies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product implementation.
• Support technical design reviews and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
