Job summary

Berkshire Gas in Pittsfield seeks a Senior Tech Support Specialist – Gas Engineering to manage CAD packages, set up SAP work orders, and verify gas system calculations. The role requires drafting, mapping, and cross-functional support across engineering and operations.

You will draft regulator stations, maintain maps, and train new staff on Berkshire Gas standards. On-site position with close coordination with DOT and contractors expected.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting gas utility projects using CAD.
• Proficient in SAP for work orders and billing.
• Ability to compile and maintain gas utility maps and regulatory documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD construction drawing packages for gas projects including main installation and retirement.
• Create main and service tables for each project and draft job procedures.
• Confirm gas pipe flow pressures using GasCalc software.
• Draft regulator stations and commercial meter sets using CAD and SAP.
• Maintain leak survey CAD maps for Berkshire Gas service area and update yearly.
• Add land base to composite maps to facilitate posting of new mains.
• Compile state highway-related maps in CAD and add station numbers from Mass DOT maps.
• Log Mass Highway jobs and provide requested gas utility information to Mass DOT and contractors.
• Provide drafting support for Engineering, Marketing, IT, Distribution, Production, and Management.
• Prepare work order estimates in SAP for marketing and service construction.
• Post as-built drawings for records and create DigSafe tickets as needed.
• Train new engineering staff on Berkshire Gas standards and CAD usage.
• Maintain standard CAD library and create standard connections.
