Placements24 represents a dynamic game development studio in East London seeking a Senior Gameplay Programmer. You will design, implement, and optimize core gameplay mechanics across upcoming titles, collaborating with designers, artists, and engineers to deliver fluid experiences.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in gameplay programming, strong C++ skills, and a solid understanding of game design. Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity and a portfolio are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in gameplay programming for video games.
• Expertise in C++ programming and object-oriented design.
• Strong understanding of game design principles and player experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and iterate on core gameplay systems and mechanics using C++.
• Collaborate closely with game designers to understand and implement gameplay features.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code, adhering to coding standards.
• Optimize gameplay systems for performance across various target platforms.
• Debug and resolve complex gameplay-related issues.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to integrate gameplay features with engine systems.
