Job summary

Escape Velocity is seeking a Game Designer with strong scripting skills to create and implement gameplay mechanics across a multiplayer title. You’ll balance features and ensure they’re fun to play, working with designers, artists, animators, and engineers.

You will use visual scripting tools and UE5, refine through playtests and live data, and collaborate with leads to steer the game vision. This position is fully remote and supports team members worldwide.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience on a multiplayer and/or live service game.
• At least one shipped AAA title.
• Expert knowledge of game scripting and Unreal Engine (UE5 preferred).
• Vector math skills.
• A passion for competitive gaming with professional understanding of current multiplayer action games.
• Strong creative and technical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee multiplayer match mechanics and features.
• Work with designers, artists, animators, and engineers to document and implement features in the engine.
• Use visual scripting tools to create complex and dynamic gameplay.
• Refine implementation through playtest feedback and live data.
• Collaborate with leads and directors to align the game vision with designs.
