Avalon Consulting is seeking a Senior Fundraising Copywriter to develop mission-driven creative for nonprofits across environmental conservation, social justice, and arts sectors. You will lead a portfolio of clients, shaping messaging strategy and overseeing campaigns from acquisition to cultivation, while mentoring other writers and collaborating with client teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional fundraising copywriting across multiple campaigns.
• Expertise in direct mail and digital fundraising communications.
• Ability to lead writers for multiple clients and projects.
• Ability to reflect different voices and missions.
• Strong editing, proofreading, and QA skills.
• Excellent organization and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset with mentoring other writers.

Responsibilities

• Lead writer for a portfolio of nonprofit clients across campaigns (acquisition, renewals, appeals, newsletters, email).
• Partner with client teams to shape messaging strategy and creative direction.
• Contribute to messaging audits and bring fresh ideas to the table.
• Share expertise and help strengthen Avalon’s Copy team and processes.
• Coach and mentor other writers to grow skills.
