Manulife John Hancock seeks a Senior Legal Specialist to provide regulatory support for registration statements, supplements, proxy and merger filings to ensure legal compliance with SEC requirements and internal standards.

The role requires expertise in mutual fund regulation, EDGAR databases, and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• 7+ years drafting mutual fund prospectuses, registrations, supplements, proxy statements, and other disclosures.
• Experience with open-end fund SEC filings and related disclosure requirements.
• Knowledge of EDGAR and common-language databases; ArcPro is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file SEC registration statements for open-end and closed-end funds.
• Draft and file proxy statements for open-end and closed-end fund proxies.
• Prepare supplements, merger filings, and other fund disclosure documents.
• Review shareholder reports and keep management informed of developments.
• Monitor regulatory developments relevant to investment companies.
