Job summary

Belltower Fund Group, the funds services division of AngelList, seeks a Senior Manager of Fund Accounting to lead accounting, valuation, and reporting for 27,000+ funds. You will resolve exceptions, respond to investor inquiries, and collaborate with auditors on complex fund audits.

The role reports to the Fund Accounting Director and partners with cross-functional teams to enhance automation and accuracy in financial reporting. Strong CPA, GAAP knowledge, and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in investment company accounting.
• Experience at a public accounting firm and/or fund administrator role.
• Proficiency in US GAAP, ASC 946 and ASC 820.
• Experience in financial statement creation for investment funds, including footnotes.
• Track record of improving financial reporting controls and SOC 1 processes.
• Experience coordinating with external auditors.
• Strong initiative, motivation, and proactive communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee key accounting and reporting processes for investment funds.
• Develop and own process descriptions, matrices, and controls.
• Onboard new clients from existing administrators and providers.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely fund audits.
• Oversee events and data evaluation to determine fund valuations.
• Coach and supervise managers/senior accountants.
• Ensure accounting treatment aligns with US GAAP (ASC 946/ASC 820) and drive automation with engineering teams.
