Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. in Austin is seeking a senior engineer to lead functional safety activities for our hardware platform within the CHG team.

You will drive safety planning, architecture, and certification, coordinating with hardware, embedded, software, mechanical, and thermal engineers. This role requires a strong background in safety analysis methods and managing cross‑functional reviews, with a focus on reliability and safe-state behavior.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical/Computer/Computer Engineering with required years of experience.
• Experience leading functional safety planning and execution for hardware/safety-critical systems.
• Experience applying safety analysis methods (FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA, HARA).

Responsibilities

• Lead Cisco's development of functional safety processes from architecture through certification.
• Develop and execute a functional safety management plan for hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with hardware, embedded, software, mechanical, thermal, and test teams to ensure success.
