Job summary

Adaptiq is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer (BE-focused/Java) to join a new data platform initiative. You will help shape architecture, establish engineering best practices, and build scalable backend services and APIs, while also delivering frontend features with TypeScript and React.

You’ll work in a small, autonomous team on a high-volume streaming data platform that ingests telemetry from thousands of devices and integrates with multiple products.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building production-grade backend systems with Java and distributed architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven streaming architectures.
• Practical Apache Flink experience (preferred) or another stream-processing framework.
• Strong PostgreSQL and ClickHouse experience; data modeling, indexing, and query tuning; Redis familiarity.
• Experience with gRPC, Protobuf, and building high-volume, low-latency data processing systems.
• Experience implementing RBAC and multi-tenant architectures.
• Frontend experience with TypeScript and React.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and validating AI-generated code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and production observability.
• Proven track record as a key contributor delivering scalable backend/data-platform projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Java, TypeScript, gRPC, and Protobuf.
• Build and maintain event-driven pipelines with Kafka, Flink, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Redis.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and improve query plans.
• Develop frontend features using TypeScript and React.
• Build features for employees, departments, devices, and RBAC.
• Improve platform scalability, reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve production issues and bottlenecks across services and data pipelines.
• Own features end-to-end from design to production delivery.
• Collaborate in a small, autonomous team and contribute to architecture decisions.
