Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of enterprise software development.
• Strong Java (Spring Boot) and Python familiarity.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Knowledge of frontend basics (React/Angular/Vue) and full-stack concepts.
• 2+ years Unix/Linux experience and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
• Proven lead engineer or designer on high-volume systems.

Strong programming and software design skills are essential, so we’ll ask you to write code during most steps of the interview process.

What you will do

• Lead the development of Services or Products as part of an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) team.
• Write, test, and debug production-quality code (primarily in Java, with some exposure to Python or other languages), and collaborate to get that code into production.
• 60% Focus: Developing, testing, and debugging production-quality code, primarily in Java, with some involvement in Python or other languages.
• 40% Focus: Lead the automation of the development workflows, including:
  • Building with tools such as Ant, Gradle, and Jenkins.
  • Testing with frameworks like JUnit and Cucumber.
  • Deploying using tools like Ansible and Terraform.
  • Maturing test methodologies through Automating around test environments/test data/building frameworks etc.
• Work with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Measure health and performance of the services you help build.
• Communicate with upper management, product team, your team, and other technology peers.
• Continuously learn new concepts and technologies and share with your team.
• Leverage and contribute to our evolving shared infrastructure.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Creating high-level product specifications and design documents.
• Providing the development team with architectural blueprints to follow.
• Guiding and assisting the development team throughout the process.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with coding or design.
• Ensure the final product is completely functional and meets requirements.
• Updating software solutions as required.
• Training and overseeing the activities of the members of the development team.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to determine software requirements and develop good working relationships .
• Actively leading the technical vision to success.

What you will have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade software and services.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot preferred) and familiarity with Python or similar languages.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of frontend technologies (React/Angular/Vue) and full-stack development concepts.
• 2+ years of experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• 2+ years of experience designing and architecting complex, scalable systems.
• Proven experience as a lead engineer or designer on high-volume, distributed systems.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of database design and data modeling (SQL and NoSQL).
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas and influence decisions.
