Job summary

PTR Global is seeking a Sr. Engineer – Full Stack to design, develop, and implement large-scale, production-grade applications. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and drive security and reliability.

The role is hybrid onsite (3 days per week) in Fort Worth, TX, with a fast-paced environment and a strong emphasis on quality and scalability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review code, participate in deployments, and help refine engineering best practices

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
  • Master’s degree in a related technical discipline is preferred.
  • Airline industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong full stack development with Java, Python, C#, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with Spring/Spring Boot and FastAPI.
  • Hands-on with Angular (incl. Angular 17) and React.
  • Kubernetes and Docker deployment experience.
  • GitHub and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD.
  • PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis data management.
  • Kafka, REST, GraphQL integrations.
  • Azure and AWS cloud experience.
  • Automation tools: Selenium, TestNG, Postman, SonarQube, Cypress, JUnit, NUnit, PyTest, Cucumber, Playwright, Wiremock/Mockito/Moq.

Job Overview:
As a Sr. Engineer – Full Stack, you will design, develop, and implement large-scale, production-grade applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies. You will be a key technical leader, solving complex engineering problems, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers. This role is hybrid onsite (3 days per week) and requires someone who can start as soon as possible and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that emphasizes quality, scalability, security, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications using modern frameworks and cloud technologies.
  • Write clean, well-structured, and well-documented code, tests, and technical work products in alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Build reusable components, libraries, and services that have broad impact across multiple product domains.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for complex issues, identify systemic problems, and define and lead execution of corrective action plans.
  • Design thoughtfully integrated systems and architectures that enable multiple teams to deliver value with speed, scale, and reliability.
  • Oversee and manage technical debt in existing systems and drive initiatives to reduce or eliminate it within ongoing implementations.
  • Anticipate scaling, latency, and durability challenges and guide teams in implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with security teams to embed security-conscious practices early in the lifecycle of new systems and features.
  • Evaluate technical risks and guide teams toward practical prevention and remediation strategies.
  • Continuously assess and improve squad delivery practices, recommend enhancements to leadership, and drive their implementation.
  • Identify and remove duplication of effort across teams, proactively promoting reuse of components and patterns.
  • Measure and assess team performance, provide feedback, and identify development areas for individual engineers.
  • Explore emerging technologies, lead the development of prototypes with minimal guidance, and incorporate viable innovations into architectural solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business, technical, and operational requirements.
  • Participate in and sometimes lead code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions to uphold high engineering standards.
  • Support and occasionally lead production deployments, monitoring, and incident response activities as needed.
  • Contribute to and help refine engineering best practices, coding standards, and documentation across the organization.
  • Work effectively in a hybrid environment, including onsite collaboration Tuesday through Thursday as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5-7 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments.

  • Strong full stack development experience, including modern front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot and FastAPI.
  • Hands-on experience with front-end technologies such as Angular (including Angular 17) and React.
  • Experience with LitElement 2.0 is a nice-to-have.
  • Proficiency with deployment and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with source control tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling such as GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong data management experience with technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
  • Experience with integration and API technologies including Kafka, REST, and GraphQL.
  • Hands-on experience with major cloud providers such as Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, Postman, SonarQube, Cypress, JUnit, NUnit, PyTest, Cucumber, Playwright, and Wiremock/Mockito/Moq.
  • Ability to optimize solutions for performance, resiliency, and reliability while maintaining simplicity.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to concisely convey ideas verbally, in writing, in code, and through diagrams.
  • Ability to design and optimize systems spanning multiple teams to support small, safe, incremental releases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work through others by cooperatively sharing responsibilities and collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to combine deep product domain knowledge with awareness of advancing technology to introduce forward-looking solutions.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design techniques and principles.
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Proficiency with DevOps toolchains and methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment with onsite presence three days per week.
  • Ability to start quickly and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Open to working with diverse teams and stakeholders, including those on various work authorization types.

Pay Range: $55 – $60
