Job summary

Greenlight is seeking a Full‑Stack Software Engineer for the Web Core team. The role focuses on bringing core web functionality to the web platform, defining standards, building libraries, and mentoring other developers.

You will contribute to backend services as needed to achieve team goals. Responsibilities include building new web experiences, defining platform standards, mentoring teams, and scaling backend services to support a growing user base.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years software development experience.
• Ability to context switch frequently in a fast-paced environment.
• Eye toward performance, scalability, and observability.
• Experience building single-page applications using a modern framework.
• Experience building REST APIs.
• Recent experience building backend services using Node.js.
• Understanding of build/measure/learn process and lean startup skills.

Responsibilities

• Product development – build new experiences for the Greenlight website and collaborate with domain teams, managers and designers.
• Platform – support all web development, define standards and best practices, determine technologies.
• Work in a strong team to rapidly deliver on web products.
• Collaborate with product and design to add features while balancing technical debt.
• Scale and maintain backend services to support growth and new feature requests.
• Improve reliability and availability of the platform that serves users and partners.
