Greenlight is seeking a Full‑Stack Software Engineer for the Web Core team. The role focuses on bringing core web functionality to the web platform, defining standards, building libraries, and mentoring other developers.

You will contribute to backend services as needed to achieve team goals. Responsibilities include building new web experiences, defining platform standards, mentoring teams, and scaling backend services to support a growing user base.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years software development experience.
• Ability to context switch frequently in a fast-paced environment.
• Eye toward performance, scalability, and observability.
• Experience building single-page applications using a modern framework.
• Experience building REST APIs.
• Recent experience building backend services using Node.js.
• Understanding of build/measure/learn process and lean startup skills.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Greenlight is looking for a Full‑Stack Software Engineer focused for our Web Core team. This team focuses on core web initiatives including bringing the core Greenlight functionality on the web for the first time and functioning as a horizontal platform team to support other web teams. This includes setting standards, defining best practices, building common libraries and mentoring other web developers. You will also be expected to make contributions to our backend services as required to accomplish the team deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Product development – building new experiences for the Greenlight website. Work with domain teams, product managers and designers to bring different parts of the Greenlight mobile application experience to web.
• Platform – support all web development within Greenlight, provide mentorship and support for web teams, define standards, best practices and determine technologies.
• Work in a strong team to quickly deliver on our web products.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to continuously add incremental features while balancing new features and technical debt.
• Scale and maintain our backend services to evolve with new feature requests and support our growing user base.
• Improve the reliability and availability of the platform which supports our families and partners.

Compensation

Greenlight provides a competitive compensation package with a market‑based approach to pay and will vary depending on your location, experience and skill set. The total compensation package for this position will also include a discretionary performance bonus, equity rewards, medical benefits, 401K match, and more. Greenlight conducts continuous compensation evaluations across departments and geographies to ensure we are keeping our pay current and competitive.

• Estimated base pay range for this position in NY, CA, WA: $142,000–185,000.
• Estimated base pay range for this position in CO: $142,000–170,000.
