Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the AI Agents initiative within the Platform Engineering division. You will shape backend and frontend standards, work on a production-scale platform, and mentor engineers while advancing scalable microservices on Kubernetes.

You will collaborate with UX, PM and design teams to translate prototypes into robust UI components with a strong emphasis on AI integrations and reliable architecture.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in AI integrations into work processes or decision-making.
• Strong track record of integrating AI into engineering processes or workflows.
• Experience driving architecture and engineering standards at team or division level.
• Experience in event-driven and stateless architectures and in functional programming.
• Extensive backend development experience with Java.
• Experience with REST, JSON, AJAX, and relational databases.
• Design, develop, and maintain microservices on Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Build and maintain backend services using Java and work with relational databases.
• Develop and deploy microservices-based applications on Kubernetes.
• Integrate backend services with frontend systems.
• Design and implement reusable component libraries, frameworks, and tooling.
• Collaborate with UX, PM and design teams to translate design systems into UI components.
• Mentor and influence engineers across teams.
