Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply).
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or virtualization technologies.
• At least 3 years of people management experience.
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
• 1+ year of experience leading architectural design reviews and influencing enterprise-wide technical standards and methodologies (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience with database and database management systems (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud-based productivity tools or virtualization technologies (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing frameworks (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience using Git-based version-control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, Bitbucket) (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience troubleshooting technical issues within cloud environments (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience with frontend JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks (preferred).
• 5+ years of experiencing creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs (preferred).
• 9+ years of experience coding with multiple languages (Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, Scala) (preferred).
• Experience leveraging modern AI-based coding tools and IDE copilots (preferred).
• Experience managing multi-team engineering organizations or leading strategic technical programs (preferred).
• Experience defining and tracking engineering OKRs aligned to business outcomes (preferred).
• Experience shaping organization design and talent strategy for scaling engineering capabilities (preferred).
• Experience presenting technology roadmaps and investment cases to executive leadership (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of projects and a team of developers with microservices and full-stack systems.
• Mentor engineers, explore new tech, participate in communities, review code.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions for millions of users.
• Lead teams using Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, TypeScript, and Docker/Kubernetes on AWS.
• Drive multiple Agile teams and ensure delivery of large-scale initiatives.
• Define multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities with leadership.
• Develop Lead Engineers and succession plans to scale leadership across teams.
• Align engineering execution with enterprise goals and drive portfolio decisions.
• Design and implement large-scale distributed or cloud-native systems with high reliability.
