Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Senior Manager, Full-stack Engineer to lead a portfolio of multi-disciplinary engineering teams. You will drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and oversee large-scale, cross-functional programs across distributed microservices and cloud-native systems.

You will collaborate with product managers and platform teams to deliver robust cloud-based solutions, leveraging Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or related quantitative field.
• At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or virtualization tech.
• At least 3 years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor engineers, drive technical strategy, and contribute to code and architecture reviews as needed.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that empower users.
• Guide teams with Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript across AWS services and containers.
• Define multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities.
• Develop leaders within teams and scale leadership capability across groups.
• Align engineering execution with enterprise goals and drive portfolio decisions.
