Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to deliver full stack solutions for operators and analysts in a fast-paced environment. You will design intuitive UI/UX, develop dashboards and automation, and collaborate across diverse teams on multiple stacks.

The role requires Python scripting, UI framework experience (Angular/React), and familiarity with databases, GitLab CI/CD, and Docker. A TS/SCI - Polygraph clearance is required. The position is based in Fort Meade, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 10–12+ years of software development experience.
• Substitution: 4 years of additional SWE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Python scripting and UI frameworks (Angular/React) is required.
• Experience with AI Agents to assist with software development and research (Claude Code, Codex, Pi, etc.) is preferred.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQLite) and GitLab CI/CD is desired.
• Experience Docker containerization and full-stack development are expected.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements and improve existing corporate tools.
• Understand customer missions, collaborate with teammates, gather user requirements, and automate workflows.
• Design reliable, intuitive user interfaces and workflows.
• Integrate with diverse teams, systems, and technology stacks.
• Work closely with team lead to address analysts and developers’ needs.
• Develop data visualization, automation, and workflow enhancement solutions.
• Independently drive projects through the full development lifecycle.
