Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to deliver full stack solutions for operators and analysts in a fast-paced environment. You will design intuitive UI/UX, develop dashboards and automation, and collaborate across diverse teams on multiple stacks.

The role requires Python scripting, UI framework experience (Angular/React), and familiarity with databases, GitLab CI/CD, and Docker. A TS/SCI - Polygraph clearance is required. The position is based in Fort Meade, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 10–12+ years of software development experience.
• Substitution: 4 years of additional SWE experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Python scripting and UI frameworks (Angular/React) is required.
• Experience with AI Agents to assist with software development and research (Claude Code, Codex, Pi, etc.) is preferred.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQLite) and GitLab CI/CD is desired.
• Experience Docker containerization and full-stack development are expected.

Description:

You will operate as a Full Stack Software Engineer on the program. The program is tasked to provide custom software solutions for operators and analysts including analytic pipelines, webpage visualization and general mission focused knowledge. This is a high-speed, rapidly changing environment that provides new challenges and opportunities for learning and growing on a daily basis. The team maintains multiple applications and servers, provide scripting support and provide the documentation and software solutions to a wide variety of users across CNO.

• Gather requirements and make improvements to existing corporate tools.
• Understand the customer’s mission, collaborate with team members, gather user requirements, and automate workflows.
• Design and create reliable, intuitive user interfaces and workflows. ·
• Integrate with, and contribute to, a diverse set of teams, systems, and technology stacks.
• Work closely with the team lead to understand and address the needs of analysts and developers.
• Develop cutting-edge solutions for data visualizations, task automation, and workflow enhancements.
• Independently drive projects and proposals, taking ownership of the entire development lifecycle.

Position Required Skills:

• Teams are small and cross-functional, so ideal candidates bring some combination of UI/UX, middleware/API, back-end, DevOps, CNO, or data science experience.
• Experience leveraging AI Agents to assist with software development and research.(Claude Code, Codex, Pi, etc.)
• Experience writing scripts and services in Python.
• Experience developing with UI frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, etc.).
• Familiarity with Relational Databases (Postgres, SQLite, etc.).
• Familiarity with GitLab (CI/CD).
• Familiarity with Docker.

Nice to Haves

• Prior CNO experience.
• Knowledge of Network Protocols.
• Experience with analyzing cyber security-related data sets (network traffic, OS events).
• Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
• Rust Experience.
• Experience developing software with Java.

AD3 Qualifications:

Shall have a minimum of a Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Engineering and a minimum of twelve (12) years of software/system development work experience or a Masters of Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a minimum often (10) years of experience.

Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Salary Range: $245k-$299k (Annually)

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
