Job summary

Calendly is seeking a Full Stack Engineer for the Trust & Safety team in the United States. You will build systems to detect and stop abuse, improve deliverability of notifications, and ship guarded features with careful evaluation on real traffic.

You will collaborate with Product, Operations, and Data to define requirements and measure impact while balancing security and user experience. You will work across Rails, Node/TypeScript, and Go, with exposure to PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable cloud

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development at a SaaS or tech company with production systems.
• Strong backend skills: services, APIs, data-heavy workflows in a service-oriented architecture.
• Experience with Rails, Node/TypeScript, Go, or equivalents; willing to work across multiple languages.
• Comfort with relational databases and SQL; ability to use data to validate changes.
• Analytical mindset: consider misuse scenarios and minimize friction for real users.
• Good judgment balancing security with user experience and performance.
• Commitment to clean, reliable code, testing, and incremental shipping.
• Clear cross-functional communication with Engineers, Operations, and Support.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain systems that detect and stop abuse across sign-up, booking, and messaging.
• Improve reliability, deliverability, and compliance of email and SMS notifications.
• Ship new detection features with measured impact and manage false positives/negatives.
• Respond to active abuse during on-call and replace quick fixes with durable solutions.
• Create tools for the Trust & Safety Operations team to review accounts faster.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Data to define requirements and measure impact.
• Work with other product teams to add protections to their flows.
• Review implementation plans, pull requests, and share learnings with the team.
