Job summary

True Anomaly is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to drive feature development and architectural decisions across our React/TypeScript frontend and Elixir backend, shaping the evolution of our spacecraft modeling and ground control software.

This onsite role near Denver, CO or Long Beach, CA demands ownership of end-to-end features, strong code quality, and mentorship of junior engineers, with a focus on scalable patterns, testing, and addressing debt in a high-stakes, space-focused

Qualifications

• Track record of working in Git-based workflows with high standards for commit hygiene, PR quality, and collaborative review processes.
• Deep expertise in modern React, including components, hooks, patterns, and performance optimization.
• Strong database experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query tuning.
• Strong testing philosophy with hands-on experience across the stack (Vitest, React Testing Library, ExUnit, property-based testing, integration testing).
• Expert-level HTML/CSS and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Fluency with gRPC, RESTful, and WebSocket services; design for frontend and backend needs.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver complex features end-to-end across the full stack, from frontend interfaces through backend services.
• Drive architectural direction across frontend and backend systems, establishing scalable patterns and contracts.
• Proactively identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability risks.
• Set the quality bar through code review and testing practices; provide guidance through pair programming and reviews.
• Mentor and elevate junior and mid-level engineers through design discussions and constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and domain engineers to influence system-wide architecture.
