Job summary

Pinwheel is building the future of financial services. We seek a senior full-stack Product Engineer to develop APIs, dashboards, and integrations, working closely with customers and cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes Python-based microservices and a lean, high-velocity environment in NYC with a hybrid schedule.

You will contribute to core product areas, partner with customers, and help shape the platform while maintaining high technical quality and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining full-stack applications.
• Experience at an early-stage startup or small tech company.
• Expertise with modern back-end languages/frameworks (e.g. FastAPI, Django, Rails, Gin).
• Expertise with modern frontend web frameworks (React, Vue, etc.).
• Experience leading projects with multiple teams and engineers.
• Passionate about working closely with customers and using AI responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Help us build our Bill Switch product to migrate users' subscription spend.
• Contribute to a new API version aligning contracts with product direction.
• Improve tax product ahead of tax season.
• Refactor legacy code to align with current product direction.
• Build a new customer dashboard API aligned with our stack.
• Develop integrations with banking platform partners and improve existing ones.
• Understand customer needs and design scalable data models and services.
• Design and ship new functionality in internal and customer-facing back-end APIs.
• Maintain the Python-based microservice stack and raise engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to team growth.
